Blackout! 2 was a great album in my opinion. Relapse is still over hyped garbage.

Now I'm just waiting too see what Slaughterhouse can deliver. Considering they've only done 5 or so songs and those alone have kept me satisfied for last 6 months, the idea of getting 15+ new songs all at once is kinda scary, I might explode..

I've skipped all the Blackout albums. I like Red and Meth, but Doc's Da Name 2000 and Tical 2000 were both pretty weak and I think Blackout came out out just after those? I didn't like the direction they were going so I've not bought any of their albums since. Basically, the beats sucked. It's kind of wierd because in the late 80's/early 90's, I'd buy pretty much everything on Def Jam because you could guarantee it was dope. These days kind of the opposite, I tend to give Def Jam releases a wide berth. :/

Does no one like the slightly less commercial stuff? Last three albums I bought were DOOM, Q-Tip, and People Under the Stairs. All good albums.

Haven't heard the other two, but heard Q-Tip's album. Was a pretty good album. I wasn't expecting much from it either but he was real good lyrically on the album.

Not a fan of Q-Tip, his music gets abit boring after awhile. He has talent and all but carnt get into his music. I'd rather listen to talib kweli or mos def.

Ghostface in OZ!, I gotta get in on this, if I hadn't seen this thread I wouldn't have known. To put my .02 cents in, this year hasn't been good for rap, there's been that Ross album and Fiddy beef, Asher Roth, Eminem's new material + a bunch of other southern "trap" music – pretty boring IMO but not like I was checking for top 30 rappers anyway. So far I've been listening to Madlib Beat Konducta 5-6, Illa J, MF Doom, Black Milk and Elzhi plus a bunch of classics from Hip-Hop's heyday. Someone mentioned slaughterhouse now that's something I will openly embrace and support, four MC's about their craft and leaving the bullshit behind them. peace.

I find this thread interesting, as i enjoy aussie hiphop, but haven't found any american hiphop i can listen to for more than a minute.

I think the aussie accent just suits hiphop better than the american one.

Yeap I agree, Everyone Had had there own ideas. Same with Young Gotti leaving Daz and DPG to sign with his mortal enemy. All wanted to bring back the west with deathrow but all failed. Promised riches and success but realized they would just get black balled and cold shoulder treatment if you are affiliated with DeathRow records.

I'd say he's more incompetent then anything, at least in running a business. Not to mention he's shady as fark. There's obviously a reason why all his talent farked off when contracts ran out, unless they were desperate, like Kurupt.

Most of us would have heard the rumours that Tupac was such a prolific writer in his later days because he was in such a shitty deal with Suge, he just wanted to make the required number of albums and GTFO of there.... The rumour continues that Suge knows that so got the hit on Pac done to ensure he wouldn't take his best work elsewhere . That's enough conspiracy theories for today though :D

It wasn't just them though, the whole West Coast, everyone in the industry thought Death Row was back for another run and these guys were going to be the resurrection.

I'd recommend watching Crooked I's documentary "Life After Death Row", it's pretty interesting..

If you're interested at all in Death Row, you should read the book 'Have Gun Will Travel – The Spectacular Rise and Violent Fall of Death Row Records' – Ronin Ro. It's a great book that really spills the details on the goings on. It really lays into Tupac.

I guess if you're a Pac fan you might not like that – personally I thought he was only ever a slightly above average rapper at best. He was a better actor than a rapper. But each to their own. :)

I agree, although I have the utmost respect for what he did for hip hop, once you take away his influence, accolades and legend status, your left with nothing more than an average rapper. Exactly! Mixtapes are free and are for promo use only..it gives artists exposure and it gives people a chance to hear new artists. All artists submit there tracks to dj's to get the word out about their new single or whats to come in the future. I urge more people to post these within this thread.

Artists and DJ's are not legally allowed to make money off mixtapes unless they have all original production and everything (sample's etc.) has been cleared before hand.

You will still see them for sale but in order to bypass the laws, they're only actually selling you the CD case and the artwork, the actual CD with the music on it is "free". But most people have given up on trying to sell them and just put them up for free download.

I Really do hope people go out and support Chamillionaire on his next album Venom, he said if it does good sales in the first week he will put Mixtape Messiah 6 and 7 free on the same day.

was there a few chronological error? in an interview on wake up show (when he freestyles and does the cross fader to edit his own stuff, apparently this is difficult) he mentioned he was in hospital when 2pac got shot. in the movie it was afterwards when lil cease crippled him.

Never been a big fan of Kanye his first 3 albums were cool but that RnB autotune shit he put out was horrible. Not to mention he's an egotistical bastard.

It's just typical rapper bravado talk. It's just a clever way of saying "I'm better than you", I don't think it was to be taken literally. Crooked is easily one of the more humble rappers out and is one of the few that actually pays homage to the legends.

There's no real way to prove that these are free, they just are. Artists and DJ's just upload them to file hosting sites and spread them. Like I said before, they have to be free..

Rapper Tone Loc collapsed and passed out and had a seizure during an outdoor concert in Florida. According to reports, Tone Loc, born Anthony Smith, was performing at the Capt’n Fun Beach Club early Friday morning (May 29).

He apparently suffered the seizure due to overheating, although the temperature of the atmosphere was listed in the low 80’s.

During his six-song set, he made several references to the heat, before he passed out on the stage.

The rapper was rushed to a nearby hospital in an ambulance, where he is currently being treated.

According to reports, this is not the first time Tone Loc has suffered from a seizure on stage.

He also had one during a performance in Charlotte, N.C. on January 2008.

so I went to necro at manning bar sydney uni on the weekend. Not many people there at all but was an awesome show! Necro was being dirty as always and mr hyde was a great hype man.
There was a heap of lads there though, you know those guys in like white polo shirts and white caps being a bunch of wankers. Ended up being a massive brawl at one stage that everyone got caught up in as this one little guy was hiding behind anyone he could and there was about 5 huge guys pushing through everyone trying to grab him. No security either which was funny.

The bathroom was an experience there everytime as well, I saw numerous people slip and fall into a puddle of urine was hilarious.

Back in the day, it wasn't all about 'shake that ass for me girl' blah blah, albeit their were a few rappers who did talk about women in such a deregatory way but to a much less extent I've heard so-called 'rappers' these days. 2Pac's lyrics were deep, I guess they could be interpreted as superficial and vain but imo not really to me, but I haven't heard all of his stuff so I could be wrong. I think it was more the period after 2Pac's demise that other rappers such as Eminem, G-unit, 50 cent and all that crap came out..which is what I was referring to when I said superficial.

I think that is an extreme statement, of course he did, people could identify with someone who talked about real things, real problems with real messages which is one of the reasons why he has gathered such a following. He instilled a message of fear in my opinion, people think damn hes such a gangster, I should listen to him. In his early days, his style was unmatched (biggies style/flow was completely different), he was bringing something new to the game, he was a major player in rap development and he had some kickass and incredibly catchy songs. He has a massive following because of his presence and his classic songs and now that hes passed, people will jump on the bandwagon even more. I love 2pac for the things he did for hip hop, not his lyrics or his beats. He created diversity, be it superficial or not, he cemented the paths for future hip hop and for that he earns much respect.

If you want to hear some decent lyrics I just got myself a copy of Sabac – the ritual. Its not a good as his debut album "sabacolypse", but its worth listening to. I would recommend getting both. Im also a huge fan of Jedi Mind Tricks – Voilent by design. Immortal technique – revolutionary vol 2 is a recommendation as well.

My favourite recently is "I need drugs" by necro. Not much meaning in it, but the song cracks me up everytime.

If you want to hear some incredible wordplay I suggest picking up – best of organized konfusion. Stray bullet is an excellent song with meaning, check it out.

I mentioned it briefly way back in the thread.
It's a good album, but I think it's his weakest yet. This is mainly because it doesn't really feel like an album, it doesn't have a consistent sound. It's more like a compilation of various DOOM tracks that have been knocking around over the past few years since Mm...Food. E.G. Angels ft. Ghostface was on the Nature Sounds presents: Natural Selection compilation; Lightworks is the J Dilla beat from Donuts and that was already used by Q-Tip and Talib Kweli on a Peanut Butter Wolf album so it's starting to sound a little stale, IMO; That's That is a nice track, but the beat was on one of the Special Herbs album years ago – I was kind of hoping for new material, you know?

All things considered though, it's a solid album and better than 99% of everything else that's out there.

I'm really liking Sabac and Jedi Mind Tricks, ecspecially Uncommon Valor. Organized Konfusion are really good lyricists, but the beat sounds like every other rap song I've heard in regards to stray bullet which leaves my a little bored after a while, the extinction agenda and bring it on are awesome though. Thanks for giving me these reccs guys, I'm so accustomed to the likes of Akon, Nelly and I thought that was all their was to rap but now I've gotten a new insight I'm starting to really dig it. As you people say, much respect :)

I dont claim to be a 2pacologist. You picked a mere 12 songs that have some rational meaning in your eyes. From what I have heard from 2pac which would be mostly mainstream, although ive been around for a while now I heard most of it and the MAJORITY is superficial. I even took a song you mentioned that i didnt know the lyrics to and showed that its full of thugtalk with not much substance. Take superficial to be what you want it to be, but if "touch em all and flap em all and talking about being a thug growing up its all horseflap". I totally agree. If you read from how this convo started you might get a better picture of what im on about. What I want to know is in what context does pun or big l have better shots then say someone like supernatural, esoteric, prevail from swollen members. All those guys are fanstastic lyricists with a unique style. Granted pun and big l have much more notoriety but what in your eyes makes them stand out? I seem to think that rap grew immensely around 93 onwards. I think that alot of people caught onto it around that time and although most of the music that came out that year was brilliant, im thinking that alot of artists got recognised and are still stand outs because they were the first artists to be recognised when the rap phenomenon started. I feel if some of todays rappers were around in that time period that we wouldnt know as many classic rappers as we do today.

That reminds me I just saw a doco on big pun the other day...dammn he grew. I reckon though that people seem to recognise you more and popularity grows proportionately to pants size. When I saw necro on the weekend he had definately put on at least 20-30kgs since I last saw him and I dunno I just felt he seemed more dominant and intimidating, should do a study into it heheh.

This can be said of any DOOM album... 75% of MM..Food was made up of already released herbs, plus Kookies, One Beer and Kon Queso (aka Yee Haw) had been floating around for years. Even Op Doomsday had about 4 tracks that had been out for a year or more.

Personally I think it's in his top 3, with VV2 being the weakest. BLT doesn't have a totally consistent sound, but it's got segments that are either sonically or lyrically linked. It also makes it more interesting, and it flows well anyway. It's also welcome respite from the 50 plus minute hip hop albums that seem to be the norm now.

For me, his albums are like this:

1. Madvillain
2. VV1
3. BLT
4. Op Doomsday
5. Mouse and the Mask
6. Take Me to Your Leader
7. MM...Food
8. VV2

But I would give MM..Food a 4/5, so ranking them like that is a bit disingenuous.

Ah, I should have been more clear, when I said I thought BLT was his weakest I was only really comparing the three 'core' DOOM albums, I.E. Operation: Doomsday, Mm.. Food and Born Like This. I'd definitely agree with VV2 being the weakest overall. Taking those core three though, I rate them in order of release personally, they've gone downhill over time. But similar to you I'd still give BLT a 4/5 so that's not such a bad thing. Rating all the other projects as well, to some exent I don't think I can really do that, because he's trying to do different things? I love Madvillainy and Mouse and the Mask but, they're kind of not DOOM albums, they're Madvillain and Dangerdoom albums respectively, so it's kind of comparing apples and oranges, to an extent.

I'm about halfway through AZ's new album and so far it's dope, a lot better than his last effort. I can't believe he wasted that intro beat though, he needed to drop a verse over it instead of just talking.

AZ has lost his touch with this album an the previous one. Bring back the old AZ lol. As for kurupt? the only solid solo album he done was tha streetz iz a muthaphuka.

Yea after giving AZ's album a couple of good spins I'm a little disappointed. Overall it's alright, just nothing about it really stands out as special. I want "AWOL" and "The Format" AZ back :(

I've given Blaqkout a few listens to and I think it's dope. It's different but I'm liking it, gotta feel good vibe to it. It definitely exceeded my (relatively low) expectations.

Honestly the only thing i think they can be compared on is the fact that they were both leaders of their respective territories.

Their type of Hip Hop was different.

Pac was raw and would say what he wanted when he wanted regardless of what people thought, he might of not told the deepest stories but he got straight to point and made people listen to what he was saying.
He was also a leader for the black community and gave them a voice, aswell as a great actor.

Biggie got more Technical on his tracks but thats all he had.

Biggie was a rapper and Pac was a Entertainer.

When Death Row records was almost gone, Snoop, Dre and 2Pac gone Daz Dillinger was the only decent artist left doing production/rapping. Before he left he took some 2pac records including these songs and redid some of the production/remixed some of the songs. He was going to release this compilation but faced legal issues. I think the tracks were given to Afeni Shakur.

Love First 2 Bomb on that album, sounds way better than the original version which is a suprise.

Well I like to tell people what I really feel and its hard for me to keep it back. People can read my facial expressions well when it comes to what im passionate about.

I don't think I said anything about retiring. I tried to make sure I didn't use that word. You shouldn't either regardless of how it looks.

Fact. Mo More underground mixtapes after part 7. No jacking beats and putting out full cds. That Formula is old. To me. I have done it 100 million times and its just doesn't inspire me anymore. Sorry if it makes you feel a certain way. There are plenty other artists out there doing it that you can choose from.

Fact. Venom isn't gonna drop. Its not coming out. Im not dropped. Not depressed. Im not sad. Just telling you what Im thinking and what Im gonna do. No press release about it. No label rep saying it. Straight from the bosses mouth. You want me to "keep it real" right? The label seems very excited about releasing new product and thats a good thing right? There are a lot of people involved in the process now and what I think is dope is just becoming a different kind of dope. Fast forward. Scratch Venom. Im not gonna call it something else and still release it either. Whoever edits all that wikipedia info mentioned people I worked with in the past year but a lot of that stuff that was never planned for the cd anyways. Cant miss something you never had. The Past dope concepts will go into my vault. Key locked thrown away. Except for a couple of these that could fit anywhere .The music should fit together and not sound like its all over the place. Anyways ... someone that will probably read this always says to me that BARRY GORDY with the old MOTOWN RECORDS used to say this about music. K.I.S.S. "KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID" ... FYI. I didn't pick hip hop police as a single just played cool in the public so I wouldn't sound like a disgruntled artist on a major. I liked it because of the creativity and because of the ruler but just not for a single. Hands went up in the room and I lost. Funny because thats what happened when me and paul were in a group but the results were in my favor and IN LOVE WITH MY MONEY WAS BORN. Any past record you may have questioned...I questioned also.... and any past record you thought was dope...I "knew" was dope....I still think Im good at knowing what sounds good even though im always at constant battle to prove that. About my past single choices- I could break down who did what but I wont. Who cares. I have always let people put the blame on me. " Im the one who recorded the songs right?" No problem. I can deal with it.

There are too many different worlds that I fit into and that would make a person think that I don't know which one Im supposed to be in. I know exactly who I am as an artist but its like the story is getting told for me in too many different ways. Now im erasing all of those lines and making one. If this explanation still doesn't make sense then maybe I can find a crayon and paint the picture clearer later. Thats the goal.

Chamillionaire Says Venom Isn't Dropping, Done With The Mixtape Game, No Paul Wall Collabo

Chamillionaire fans awaiting the release of his third major label LP, Venom, will have to cross the album off their wanted list this year.

The Houston rapper says the album has been scrapped because he isn't entirely too happy with the product.

"The Venom album--is not coming out. Universal didn't shelve it, I'm not going to drop it--I don't want to drop it," Cham tells fans during a live broadcast earlier tonight, June 3rd, 2009.

"Mixtape Messiah 7...I'm not dropping that either. I'm not putting out Mixtape Messiah right now, I'm not putting out Venom."

Before getting into details as to why he isn't planning on releasing those two discs, Chamillionaire took some time to adamantly clarify that there will not be another Paul Wall collabo album.

"There will not be another Paul Wall and Chamillionaire album--there wont."

"Shout out to Paul, we're real cool right now, we got past all the beef and everything but there wont be another Chamillionaire and Paul Wall album."

"I don't see it in the future, it has nothing to do with beef with Paul--it has nothing to do with money because the label--they offered me, they told me alotta money, I could tell you how much right now and some people'll get mad, but it has nothing to do with that---its bigger than that."

Cham also says he's done with the mixtape saying he isn't dropping anymore after giving it some thought.

Jay-Z's Blue Print 3 Hitting Stores On September 11th?

An Atlantic Records executive may have inadvertently let the cat out of the bag after posting a message via his twitter page regarding Jay-Z's Blue Print 3 release date.

The album, which is arguably one of the years most anticipated releases, has been at the center of much discussion after Jay bought his way out of making it a Def Jam release for a cool $5 million late last month.

According to Atlantic Records executive Sam Crespo, Blue Print 3 will be released via Jay-Z's RocNation with Atlantic assisting in marketing and promotions.

The album is slated to hit stores on September 11th, 2009 , celebrating the 8 year anniversary of Jay's first Blue Print in 2001.

Rapper Necro Arrested For Fight In Australia

Rapper/producer Necro was arrested in Perth, Australia on Thursday (June 4) following a fight with an unidentified man, reports local paper The West Austrilian.

The New York based rapper got into the physical altercation with man at around 10:30 a.m. (local time), leaving one man injured with minor injuries after being punched in the face.

Police were called in, and took Necro (real name: Ron Braunstein) where he is being held until a court appearance Friday morning (June 5).

The official charges he was hit with, if any, were unknown at press time.

Necro is currently on an overseas tour, with Perth being one of the stops. He was scheduled to perform at the local Hyde Park Ballroom, but the date was cancelled due to the arrest.

However, remaining dates are expected to go ahead as planned. He will hit one more stop in Australia before moving on to New Zealand, Norway, and then back to the U.S. to begin dates for the upcoming Rock The Bells tour.

Ok well the only good releases this year has been..

Album of the year for me is still tied between Saigon & Statik Selektah and Reks. Plus I know I'm forgetting a couple of good ones that I can't remember. Blackout! 2 is top 5 imo.

D-Block was better than expected but still nothing amazing, worth a listen. I'm waiting for the LOX album though.

Cam'ron was wack (surprise surprise) but Jadakiss' album was dope imo. I absolutely hated it after a few listens and totally gave up on it but for some reason I went back and listened to it about a month later and then couldn't stop listing to it for like a week straight.

Mos Def was alright, AZ was very average, Relapse was overhyped bullshit that 99% of people wouldn't even of given a second listen to if it didn't have the name Eminem attached to it.

The album Deltron 3030 is my favorite Hip Hop album of all time.

For those that haven't listened to Deltron 30303 before or are unfamiliar it's a Hip Hop Opera of all sorts, starting Del in the year of 3030 where he uses his Emceeing and H4x0r skillz to fight back against a NWO type establishment/future. If the Matrix was a album consisting entirely of Hip Hop, Deltron 3030 would be the one.

Digital EPs Coming From All Slaughterhouse Members, Royce Da 5?9 Readies Street Hop

Royce 5'9 is a machine that stays in the studio night and day. For proof, look no further than the amount of music he has ready for release over the next year months.

Not will he be releasing the highly-anticipated project from his Slaughterhouse crew (Crooked I, Joell Ortiz and Joe Budden) in July, but he's also prepping the release of his long-awaited solo album, Street Hop, in September.

The album, executived produced by DJ Premier, has already generated overwhelming critical accolades just from the release of street-singles such as "Shake This" and "Part Of Me".

However, before his official solo release, Royce is planning to drop a Digital only EP entitled The Revival, which will include new tracks from Royce's Street Hop LP along with a new unreleased Slaughterhouse track. Royce will also be debuting a new single and video for The Revival in the very immediate future.

Likewise, each member of Slaughterhouse will also be releasing a new digital EP throughout the month of July, and each release will contain a new Slaughterhouse track that will not be included on their debut.

"I'm looking forward to releasing new music and touring this summer. Street Hop has been in the works for almost two years and the release date will be here before you know it," said Royce. "The Revival will give people a chance to see what I've been up to and what to expect from the album. The month of July will belong to Slaughterhouse with the release of our full length group album and solo EPs from me followed by Joell, Joey and Crooked. We will show fans why we are the ones to watch."

The entire Slaughterhouse collective will be hitting the road this summer for the Rock The Bells tour, hitting Chicago, Detroit, New York, Boston, and Los Angeles among other stops.

Street Hop is due in stores September 22, but before that, The Revival will hit the web months earlier on July 7, followed by digital EPs from the other members of Slaughterhouse.

An EP from crooked I will be good considering its the closest thing to an album hes done and RELEASED in a very long time. his mixtapes are heat but its nothing near "album materal' and all his own original beats an not raps over other beats like for freestyles etc

As reported on Friday, assault charges against DMX have been dropped, paving the way for the rapper’s return to the genre of Hip-Hop. The rapper, born Earl Simmons, was charged with felony attempted aggravated assault, for an alleged altercation with a guard at the Tent City Jail, where he was incarcerated for 90 days on separate, animal cruelty and fraud related charges.

The charges was dropped this morning (June 8), in a Maricopa, Arizona courtroom a representative for the rapper has confirmed.

DMX entered into a plea agreement where he pleaded guilty and was dismissed with no jail time or additional probation.

The rapper will still serve 18 months of supervised probation.

“DMX is standing on the corner eating a hot dog at the court house in Phoenix and is now a free man,” a representative for the rapper said. “He is happy to be free and ready to begin his new life.”

DMX, 38, is currently accepting tour dates and is planning to hit the road in support of his upcoming projects, including a double Gospel/Hip-Hop album titled Walk With Me Now and You’ll Fly With Me Later.

Lets just hope he gets his s h i t together and brings out a sick album.

Well 50 didn't really start it, although it all stemmed from How to Rob that track wasn't really meant to be taken seriously. Unfortunately Ghostface took it seriously and 50 and the Wu have had beef ever since. That whole Clyde Smith skit on Supreme Clientele is a 50 diss.

Sorry if you already know this stuff but the 50/Wu beef has been going on since at least 2000.

Remember west coast rapper knoc'turnal? He has a new song out today and a new album or mixtape coming shortly. i think he was discoverd by dr.dre too.. The only last track he was on was put out on The Wash soundtrack. If you havnt seen The Wash go check it out. Main actors are dr.dre and snoop and Eminem

Oh and he did put out 2-3 albums. And Hitmans album wasnt to bad either (for those who dont know who he is, he is or was part of dr.dres aftermath label. He had his shelved album 'murda weapon' (i think it was called) leaked But never released retail.

I got the impression Hitman produced most of Chronic 2001. I think he got co-producer credit and production credits on a few tracks (I don't have the album to hand) but reading between the lines I figured he ghost produced a lot of the stuff credited to Dre too.

No Hittman didn't produce anything on 2001.

hittman's album that leaked was a bootleg, more than ¾ of those tracks weren't meant for the album

knoc-turn'al has had a drinking problem for the last few years, but is gearing up to release an album soon

all 4 members of slaughterhouse are meant to release ep's in july, with the album coming in august

50 Cent Set To Release Street LP, Soundscan Battle With Jay-Z?

In preparation for the release of his fourth studio album, New York rapper 50 Cent is getting ready to flood the streets with never before heard material.

According to MTV News, Fif will soon be releasing a street album entitled "War Angel LP" which features all new cuts.

"I'm fien'in' to get on the street, you already know what time it is," Fif is quoted as saying.

"I didn't want to write Angel Demon. It's not the contrast between good and bad. But ... if someone's at war, I'm sure they're saying their prayers.

They believe they have angels around them. What would you call an angel around a soldier at war?" "

That's why I titled it that," he added.

"Creatively, this is not even a mixtape. That's why I put LP next to it. ... My core audience will understand it immediately, and it's written specifically for that."

Fif is also planning on releasing three more mixtapes after "War Angel," in preperations for Before I Self Destruct's September release which many speculate may prompt yet another SoundScan battle for Queens rapper against Jay-Z who's releasing Blue Print 3 on September 11th (09).

"I have two other tapes to follow it," he revealed. "Fourth of July, Sincerely Southside Part 2 coming out with mostly '90s music on it. Timeless music, classic hit records.

Then, after that, there's a G-Unit mixtape. It's actually untitled. I'll be finished with it in the next day or so."

The War Angel LP drops next Tuesday (June, 16th, 2009) on ThisIs50.com.

DMX is back with a vengeance. The Yonkers rapper who recently completed a 90-day stint behind bars recently gave word of his come back album to Vibe magazine.

"I'm working on the album right now," he explained in the interview.

"Getting this shit done. I got a few more songs to go. I got a crazy joint with Sean Kingston. flapping sick, yo. Fire. And I got some shit with Swizz that's ridiculous..."

X' also says he reached to Kanye West for some beats and has already gotten some tracks from Dame Grease.

"I just hit Kanye West the other day for some beats. Also, the same people that I been flapping with, like Dame Grease. I've been working on this project for so long, I forgot who else gave me flapping beats."

"I wanna shut niggas the flap up! I'm still on probation, so it is what it is. I'm just working man.

That's where my focus is, work...Hopefully [the album comes out] this year. I'm just getting it done. The release will be in the hands of the powers that be."

Prior to his prison term, X was working on a double lp entitled, Walk With Me Now, You'll Fly With Me Later. Walk With Me Now was said to be a traditional Hip Hop album while You'll Fly With Me Later was slated to be a gospel album.

The double lp was supposed to be released via BODOG Music to which X signed to after parting ways with Sony BMG.

No word on the faith of this project as of yet.
